Our Story
From its inception as a vision to bring together the many diverse voices that contribute to evanston's success, Evanston MashUp has evolved into one of the city's most highly anticipated annual gatherings. The event was created to facilitate cross-neighborhood Connections between organizations, institutions, and industries and foster collaboration that goes far beyond just a single evening.
Throughout the years, the event has attracted hundreds of like-minded individuals who all strive toward one common goal: to make evanston an even stronger, more connected community. Mashup provides opportunities for community engagement, celebrations, recognitions and networking and facilitates the formation of meaningful relationships and long-lasting partnerships.

What Makes Mashup Special
Different than typical networking events, Evanston MashUp unites individuals from all walks of life. Business leaders network with non-profit leaders. Artists partner with entrepreneurs. Educators interact with civic leaders. Local residents learn about new opportunities to participate in their community. This diversity of thought creates a collaborative environment in which innovative ideas can be born; new partnerships develop; and meaningful relationships are formed. Everyone has a seat at the table during mashup.

Each year, we recognize changemakers who reflect our core values of collaboration, innovation, generosity, and civic participation. We hope to use their examples as motivation for others to take an active role in helping shape evanston's future.

Developing Long-Term Relationships
Many times, relationships formed at Evanston MashUp go far beyond the event itself. New partnerships are formed. Community-based initiatives begin. Professional networks expand. Friendships form. Just like having strong relationships helps create a thriving community, having a clean and inviting place for people to gather is important in helping create a positive experience. While we measure the success of mashup based on attendee numbers, we ultimately measure our success based upon the positive impact created by these Connections throughout the year.
